Yes if the Right wing base wished to remain willfully ignorantly of our immigration laws and the right wing media and leadership wish to undermine them by pushing a false narrative to it's base, then that is their prerogative . The DHS should still be able to post what our laws state in response to that false narrative and add context. That is what the Right fears is our government adding context and fact that will expose the Rights long love for lying.
