  2. First of all East Germany’s professed political faith was Communist not Socialist. Secondly East Germany was a Dictatorship supported by Powerful Oligarchs who ripped off the people for their own wealth. Take a look at many Southern Latin American Countries with Dictators supporting Capitalism. Most people on this post could really stand to read a book.

  3. richard3716 I would suggest you read a little more. Socialism is no more the first phase of Communism than Capitalism is the first phase of Fascism. In both cases it takes an authoritarian (or Oligarchs) to seize control from the people. Balance, forbearance, morality, and a respect for institutions and laws is the key to a healthy government - not labels.
