  2. Karen Messinger We - Bush - lied to go to war in Iraq. We lied to our Allies and created a mess. Having a president willing to apologize was very refreshing. As for our military - I served as enlisted and later as an officer... all at the point of the spear - the forever wars have exhausted the military, not a lack of spending. It is ironic that a person who paid for Bone Spurs should claim to be a champion of the military. Again on military spending, Trump is not spending money on housing, pay, benefits, services, or anything of the kind on our soldiers. Trump is buying what politicians always buy - weapon systems that benefit the 1% through the military industrial complex. Don’t get me wrong, good weapons are appreciated, but having toilets that flush, drinking water that isn’t polluted, housing that doesn’t have cockroaches, pay that isn’t below poverty level, or medical services that actually take care of those who sacrificed limbs, body and soul is better. By the way, the money Trump stole from the Pentagon? That was money that would have been used for military infrastructure.
