@saintbread5080 Yeah, they don't have an aggressive foreign policy, they just follow a nation with an aggressive foreign policy.

'What it comes down to is that Japan can't afford TO rebuild it's naval power' - there, I fixed that for you. Japans' military industry is decimated by decades of neglect and its population care barely provide enough workers to support its own civilian economy in the long term let alone a large military. All they're doing now is importing some ships and planes to try shoring up the many gaps. But as it stands they couldn't hold up even against South Korea let alone China. All this does is make them a bit more useful to the US.

@may-ky6jl China has pretty much no interest in landing on Japan anyway. It's silly, so much so that the US chose not to do it too. There's far more effective ways to intimidate them, a land invasion offers nothing but headaches they'd rather do without.

South Korea ain't gonna help Japan lol. They hate them as much as they hate the Chinese, if not even more so. And they most definitely aren't interested in being 'brought under Japans' wing' lmao, hell it should be the reverse since their military is far stronger.

@blackatom4957 India doesn't want a war with China, and is definitely better off just protecting its own territory. We're stuck with them as our neighbour, which means even a victory would be hollow since they'd just come back. It'd be stupid for India to allow itself to be dragged into doing the US' bidding in the region. The US is the only one who stands to gain from a war in the region, since it's safely far away from any non-strategic retaliation and can run safely home if things don't go well. They don't have to deal with China, we do. If China attacks India, India will step up. But if not, we've little to gain from fighting for the US.

@charlesfavell3350 Be careful what you wish for. Both Russia and China have already seen western hypocrisy when it comes to nuclear non-proliferation in the case of Israel, they won't tolerate Japan getting a pass too. You think that them developing nukes would favor you, but what you'd quickly find (if that's allowed to pass) is a dozen other nations all over the world being assisted to develop their own nukes, including many that're unfriendly to the west (like Iran). You have a lot more to lose from this as they're used to having nukes hanging over their heads already (India has nukes for instance). What you'd actually accomplish is to utterly break down the nuclear non-proliferation regime and set the whole world on a very dangerous course.

@isaacisaac2380 Using Ukraine as a verb is cringe. Both Japan and India don't exist to be your tools.

@blackatom4957 China isn't gonna take on India cos it knows it can't win such a war in the long run since we're literally neighbours and they'd have to maintain supply through the mountains. They've a much better shot against Taiwan or Japan since they can just blockade them.

@kaitoshinichi Bub China won its one big war with India. Even India acknowledges that.

The US, UK, Australia and Canada is basically just the US and UK, cos the latter two are a joke. Meanwhile Japan and South Korea hate each others' guts. This grand alliance idea is laughably naive. Ultimately the only players that really matter are South Korea, India and the US. China has little to be concerned about from the others. India has no interest in being the US' lapdog, and South Korea is stuck having to keep its main force at home due to threats from the North. So basically it's just all about the US.
