  10.  @johndunn2718  "Also let's not pretend that the west has been more aggressive in years. The United States and China both want to be THE super power." - The west has literally been involved in half a dozen wars in the last few years, including directly launching two of them that've killed the most people. China hasn't been to war in decades. As for "THE super power", Chinese statements always use a certain phrase - 'a multi-polar world order', as opposed to the unipolar one that's existed for the last 30 years. That hardly sounds like an aspiration to be "THE super power". More like they just don't want to be made to play by America's rules and bow to American threats - keep in mind that they've got American bases close to home, when that happened to the US in Cuba they flipped out and have punished Cuba ever since. Consider this - military spending per capita. Of course the US has the highest military spending as it has the biggest economy (though China is expected to eclipse that by the end of this decade, but still not in terms of its military spending...), so per capita military spending corrects for that. It allows smaller economies to rise, showing how truly militarist they really are. Guess what? The US still comes in SECOND in the world! It's only beaten by Israel, which has far more reason to do it (the US has almost no reason - it's in one of the safest positions on Earth, with two massive oceans on either side, and two weak neighbours above and below). What about China? It's 58th, being Azerbaijan lol! 58th!!! For context, Russia is 25th. So now please tell me who's coming across as the more militarist nation, hmm?...
