@davidford3115 It was a province of Iraq tho. It was the British who mucked that up, like they mucked everywhere else up, leaving the locals to sort through the mess after colonialism ended. Saddam was bad, but the British were far worse.

@davidford3115 Oh they sure wouldn't agree on Iraq, after all they're independent now. They still agree the British messed up everything, everyone agrees on that. 'Cept the Brits. They keep lying to themselves that they did the world a big favor.

@davidford3115 No, there's only two things the Brits are blamed for, albeit one of them is an entire category. That being all the shit involved in colonialism, which isn't relevant here. But the other is drawing terrible lines in the sand i.e. borders, which is. Iraq is hardly the only nation to be left holding the bag over that. And no one said there weren't ethnic conflicts before the Brits came along.
