@oatmongen4263 What about all their military interventions and coups? Are those also unfair things to blame them for?

@iminyourwalls8309 Australia is a poor example, as its reach isn't global. In fact there's only been two global military powers in the modern day - the USA and USSR - and the European colonial empires before that. Yes, even China doesn't cut it, as it's military isn't built for expeditionary i.e. far from your borders warfare, and that still hasn't changed much. Almost all nations both present and past have armies designed to engage in the kind of conflict which is typical - wars on their borders. Cos building a military that's able to conduct long distance operations without a link to the homeland is extremely expensive. How expensive? Consider that the US isn't just the highest military spender (by far) in the world, it's also the second highest spender PER CAPITA (which adjusts for economy size) in the world (Israel is the first, narrowly). That's hardly typical, for instance China falls to 58th place per capita. It costs A LOT to have global operations. Hence almost no one does it, and hence whatever their morality they simply can't conduct major invasions far from home. America really is pretty unique, part of only a small club of nations that do this.

@augustus331 Is any of that recycling profitable? Cos it ain't gonna happen if it isn't profitable. Plenty of plastic recycling is possible too, but doesn't happen cos it doesn't make money.

@iminyourwalls8309 "The Reason the US intervenes so much is to protect global shipping routes" - this is laughably untrue lol. Almost all the countries the US has intervened in don't even have significant navies. Some are even landlocked lol! Trying to reduce US intervention to any one single objective is a fools' errand. And anyway it doesn't say anything about the fact that the US is part of only a small club of nations that has bothered to build this capability to begin with, meaning other powerful nations still can't exert (military) power much beyond their neighbourhoods
