Many people on benefits struggle to be able to apply for jobs because they don't understand how to apply or what they need to say, how do write a CV and cover note, they don't understand how to navigate the computor well enough to apply for jobd. If our job centres were more like an employment agency, where they run a temp service and give people on benefits a choice go and do this work on a tempory basic with the opportunity of permanent work or your benefit will be reduced This would mean people would have the opportunity to try out jobs to see if they are capable, confident and contemptent of doing the job many people are afraid to apply for certain jobs as they feel they won't be any good at it and will have lost their benefit if it doesn't work out, so they don't apply. Help people to apply for jobs in the same way as employment agencies rather that just saying you have to use the government job site, many people with mental health issue find this difficult to navigate This would also be a way in which the benefit system could be subsidised by income from charging employers a fee for placements and temporary fees. The job centres at present just make sure you have applied for the right number of jobs and have spent 40 hours looking for a job but offer no help all they do is threaten people with sanctions so they apply for everything even jobs which they have no chance of getting. The whole system needs a complete overhaul.
