It is good that we are getting more involved in Europe again with the ever increasing threats from Russia and show that we aren’t just going to be abandoning any more bases over there, but the fact that we are learning to drive American vehicles when they are there instead of building our own home designed ones is a complete betrayal of our Armed Forces dwindling independence from the US side even further. We are just slowly exchanging one problem for another. What was the point in sacrificing even more necessary troops to save money and new technology if we aren’t going to use that to develop our own superior UK variance of these types of vehicles in the first place!?😞 We used to rule this sector just a few decades ago and now we have become slack once again. We had engineering we could be truly proud of. We even did great work in developing the armoured vehicles we used today during The fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan because we knew it was NECESSARY. So we should be pushing to do this once again, and to hell with the pricetag this time. It’s just not worth it if it means becoming a clone of the US. We need to show the world who WE ARE. And this isn’t it.

@finnogorman5683 Here here. It’s time for that mentality to end once and for all. We have finally gotten some of our powers back. It’s time for us to damn well use them and make sure we don’t sell out any more of our manufacturing to other countries again. This is our chance. Let’s not waste it. Unfortunately, we all know it’s not going to be as simple as that. There will always be people who are just more obsessed with money than anything resembling national pride and supporting local businesses. There will still always be people determined to get the ‘money now option’ and just sell things off for a quick cash dump. It’s our job now though to make sure less of that happens from now on. Especially with the electric revolution that is happening.

My worst nightmare. We’ve always had our own vehicles but have not pushed development in this sector for ‘decades’ apart from just constant upgrades and the new’er’ armoured vehicles since the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s so shameful that we are losing EVEN MORE TROOPS now, and the government says they are going to use this saving to spend more money on new technology, yet they aren’t using it to just also give us our own vehicles developed in the UK like these as we once did in droves. Instead, they are just buying up US ones. A complete betrayal.

It’s really pathetic. We have our own vehicles so it’s ridiculous that we have to learn to drive the American ones when we should be able to create our own variety. We were the ones who led the charge in the first place in this sector so it only makes sense that we create our own uniquely designed vehicles again rather than just getting potentially long-term defective ones from the US. After all, the army is all about ‘apparently getting just new technology at the expense of soldiers’ now after all. 😓

@bennathan7353 The thing is, how the hell was our country even able to remain the ‘third largest exporter’ in the world in the first place in the 21st-century?😳😵 I mean, that feels kind of impossible in many ways considering how many massive international rivals we’ve been accumulating over the decades!?
