  1. The weird part of this is "Israel is our strongest ally". Have these Washington types even looked at what Israel's political leaders have been doing in the last two decades? They are very actively interested in undermining USA political stability. The war crimes and the horrible stance are awful, but I at least understand the ghoulish political calculus that leads there, even as I condemn it. The insistence that Israel must be supported without question doesn't even make sense according to their ghoulish calculus. It destabilizes Israel and it it destabilizes (to a lesser degree) US politics, with oppression and ethnic cleansing as a side dish. What should have been happening for at least a decade now is conditionality to US support for Israel, predicated on reaching certain objectives in reducing violence against Palestinians, abiding by international law on not occupying land, etc. Those things are necessary to achieve peace in Israel / Palestine. And a lack of peace has a way of spreading.
