I'm going to guess that it's because the drugs weren't found on scene, so there's no way to prove beyond a shadow of doubt that they were his. Of course, we all know they were, but it's about what can be proven in court.

Law enforcement is damned if they do, damned if they don't. I constantly see silly comments stating that if a suspect had been black, ___ would happen. Yet, no one mentions it in cases like this, which are all too common.

To be fair, their son was hanging out with a known drug dealer and convicted criminal. He wasn't going down a good road himself.

The mother was annoying and was getting in the way of the investigation. She had the nerve to talk crap to the officers telling them they better do their job, all while she's in the way of them doing their job!! It's easy to see how he ended up that way. That cop at the hospital had the most innocent eyes when he was approached by the other officer. Lol. He did a great job being careful to lay everything out even if it wasn't standard protocol.

To be fair, why was Denari hanging out with a known criminal and drug dealer?? The parents assumed he wanted to get out of the car, but we don't know that. He might have been encouraging McCurty to speed for all we know. He most likely was not all innocent. Of course it's heartbreaking, but it's wise to think through the situation.

Exactly. I just said something similar. While I empathize with these parents, they seem to pretend that their son was an innocent bystander. McCarty was a known drug dealer and criminal.

I don't doubt that at all.

Huh?

If there had been evidence missed in order to get a murder conviction, they would have been the first to claim how corrupt police officers are.

Including these grieving parents who act like their son was some innocent bystander.

Which is probably why he was found not guilty for the drugs.

It sure seems that way.

@samsanderson224 Oh, for sure. It's beyond crazy.

Their son was no innocent person himself either, though.

Without a doubt
