Oh I'm hugely against it, just in the same way in Britain maybe people I don't even like but monuments to them should not absolutely be removed. I find it fascinating on at least a slightly larger scale certain people from history here now are in a sense at least praised for certain things, but back in their time would have been utterly hated by least some lol. Like you take the likes of the Clan in Scotland (though they actually settled first in Yorkshire where I'm from haha) Clan Bruce. Was a grandson of Sir Edward Bruce, namely Tam Dalyell of the Binns the founder of whats now the Royal Scots Dragoons (back then was the Scots Greys until 1690) became essentially a General under Tsar Alexis I think he was the I and commanded two wars I think.
