  3.  @antoniamendonca8918  Is rather well the basic idea is that each state has a number of votes largely depending upon the side of the population as I think the previous cenus (a sort of questionnaire for all the population) but that then would make it largely unfair on the smaller states who have a smaller number of votes so to make the voting more equal there's the electoral college which is made up of electors who vote on who the president shall be. The number of electors equals the number that state has in the house of representatives (UK equivalent being MP's) and two for the senators in congress (our here in UK's Lords though the Senators are elected, here they're appointed)
