Then that's neglecting the likes of Borough Council tax though that's certainly not worked out overall by a percentage, that's dependant upon the Borough Councils themselves and what they feel properpties fall within the certain bands of charges. Those bands being from A (as the one I come under a property value going back to 1991 being no more than £40,000) being the cheapest up to H (as long as the value was at least £320,000). Technically speaking though they're nationally rated as a two person occupancy, but if you declare there's only one occupant then you get a 25% discount and furthermore (I think this also applies to least some of the utility companies as well) when you only pay for 10 months of the year, though the amount you pay increases to pay for those two months when you don't pay anything. With the utility companies they'll (when being billed monthly I know this is categorically the case) with their overall rates will charge more during say the summer for electricity (as you won't need as much for say heating) and will be the case for the gas companies as well, more than what's being used so you don't end up with an increase in bills for the winter so it all levels out. It could be overall true though what you said on average perhaps being more tax but I really wouldn't know to be brutally honest. PS with what I stated above with VAT it's optional for a company to be VAT registered if their turnovers below (I believe it could be still set at) £70,000 a year then they don't have to be, but they'll have to pay then VAT on all their supplies and they can't charge customers/clients for VAT (as that would be a criminal offence of course). But any amount of £70k or higher then a company has to be VAT registered (then it comes with being visited by the taxman every 3 months).
