@malchir4036 Games didn't get much better from that point, honestly

Reporting from 2024, bought a 6750 XT because 6800 XT was sold out lol

Proton is definitely capable of everything it can be done, and more (FSR in any game, forcing a specific frame cap in any game, and so on), it just depends on game's developers if they will let it work through it. HDR is also a possibility with Wayland, which is realistically the only "feature" missing from Linux. At least for media consumption/gaming alone

@Ziv Zulander Test a PS2 emulator with overclocked and non-overclocked hardware, then come back to correct your statement

It's not really a don't, but a do. PAY ATTENTION TO WHICH SCREWS GO IN CERTAIN HOLES

@Megalomaniakaal Yep, on RPCS3 I have resolution scale set beyond the native resolution. Exactly because it smooths out the image, even if the particular game doesn't support anti-aliasing

...And here I am with a 1660 S, happy just for the fact Ray Tracing is being stretched out in better supported and optimized ways

I mean, Crysis is from 2007, and still pegs today's hardware. Additionally, 4060 Ti draws only 50 more watts than my 1660S, and uses the same one 8-pin power plug. It may cost a bit more for similar performance as 3060 Ti, but at least I don't have to buy a new PSU

My rule of thumb is, look up the current PS5's specs and get a tier higher hardware 👍🏻

@Mister_Phafanapolis Means little to me when the 6750 doesn't have a non-XT variant. Also XT cards have more VRAM, so that's pretty neat Edit, quick Google search says XT cards can be ~10% faster

And then there's Linux. Just install a widely popular distro for home usage, and bwam! You can even convert your PC to a server, with absolutely 0 software tinkering

My way of keeping my PC/room cool is not using high-end components 👍🏻
