@Richard L buying back shares we sold in North Sea gas wouldn't incur sanctions. It doesn't deter foreign investment in fact we have the lowest corp tax of any of the G7 and many other nations but yes renewable are the way to go
1
@elcristoph7380 you wouldn't be selling at a loss you'd break even at least or make reasonable profits and not the crisis capitalism profits the wholesalers are making now

@kawallabair3216 nuclear takes decades. We need hyro wind and solar

@Richard L I do understand the difference. I'm pointing out you don't have to fully nationalise but have the controlling number of shares but if you did nationalise yes you'd have to buy all. I DON'T agree with your argument on foreign investment as I pointed out we have the lowest corp tax of the g7 yet the WORST economy nothing to do with investment but cutting ties with out closest trading partners in favour of pathetic deals across the other side of the globe. Having a stable country as well where companies can invest isn't the same as prostrating the UK as a tax grab for large corpa including energy companies who've had huge tax back bonuses. Win win for them and ZILCH for us. We could create more innovation jobs increase the economy including exports if we got out green tech back up and running. But no the mystical investment argument comes around time and again so the rich profit and the poor get poorer
