"Killed?" People are often killed in an automobile accident. This was no accident. This was murder. Big difference!

Some prefer darkness over Light.

Surfing The Zersetzung To the contrary. There is something very wrong with using the rather ambiguous term "killed" which suggests an accident, rather than murdered which is a crime suggestive of moral culpability. This substituting of the word "killing" for murder has the effect of making murder seem like an accident, which of course this was not.

K Ten people did not simply "die." They were murdered. This is not racial, but a moral concern. Language has for too long been manipulated to obfuscate and produce false impressions.

Lilo is the baddest One who was murdered, was not "killed." One who was killed, was not "murdered." Both died.

👽alien I disagree. Justice, and our sense of propriety becomes dysfunctional when this distinction is blurred or denied. Murder is in a category of its own. Part of the problem, is the difference between a prevailing statute vs common law. That you deign to use either killing or murder as the same is also a large part of the problem. Murder is a violation of moral principle. Killing not necessarily so.

Lilo is the baddest PS: In a sense, your teacher is correct. Yes, one CAN use "kill" for murder, but this would be incorrect. The point is this... Just because one CAN do something, doesn't mean one should.

Lilo is the baddest Common sense. If one falls from a tree, and dies, was one murdered, or killed falling from a tree? Not the same.

The Colarado Supreme Court is wrong.

Surfing The Zersetzung Are you a psychoanalyst? In any case, those who provided the PCP would also be complicit.

Lilo is the baddest They either die from being accidentally killed. Or, they died from being murdered. To have been killed or murdered are contextually different. However, in both cases they died. People die for many reasons. One of these reasons is murder.

Surfing The Zersetzung Murder Def: "intentionally inflicts serious bodily harm that causes the victim's death."

Lilo is the baddest "Killed" is ambiguous, and could have resulted from many different causes. Murder is specific, and a result of a singular cause.

Lilo is the baddest Your "teacher" is incorrect.

Lilo is the baddest Now what would an "English" teacher know about the difference between morality and legality - statute vs common law? Many of our problems are a result of asking questions of the wrong people - deferring to so-called "experts" who purport to teach.

Lilo is the baddest Ignorance is not bliss. ignorance is arrogant & lazy.
