  1. It’s not just that so many people are fine with what Trump was promising. It’s also the number of people who voted for Biden in 2020 that couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Harris in 2024. And I can’t be that mad at them, because the Democrats only made a bare-minimum effort to come across as better.

  2. He’s not asking them to be perfect. He’s asking them to commit to progressive promises they make, things like paid family leave and low housing prices that a lot of Americans want. He’s mad because whenever they do, it’s not long before they put it down or chicken out.

  3. Trump didn’t win by gaining more support… at least, not a notable amount. He won because millions of people who voted for Biden in 2020 simply chose to sit this election out. I want to be madder at them for thinking the Democrats wouldn’t be much different… but I can’t. Because the Democrats barely tried to give that impression.

  4.  @kushweiser No, they didn’t. Trump has about the same amount of support that he did in 2020. He won because about 15,000,000 people who voted for Biden in 2020 chose to sit this election out. Because the Democratic side didn’t do enough to present themselves as a better alternative.
