ZZzzzzzWhat No, you do not have a point. They are defending their land, land that has always been theirs. They are defending their families, their homes, their villages, their towns, their cities. Why the hell should they give them up and move away? They are ethnic Russians, not "pro-Russians", they are pro-themselves. Imagine that Spain was doing to Portugal what Kiev is doing to them? You would fight for what is rightfully yours, you wouldn't move to any other country.

ZZzzzzzWhat They are ethnic Russians living on land that has been theirs for many centuries. Why should they move away? Their ancestors lived and died there, the land is theirs, it never was Ukrainian.

ZZzzzzzWhat You are amazingly wrong and ignorant. The reason why there are no pro-Ukrainian separatists in Russia is because Russia is not occupying ancestral Ukrainian lands - but if it were, I would certainly support these hypothetical pro-Ukrainian separatists with as much vigour as I support the ethnic Russians in the Donbass who live on their ancestral lands which were handed over to the then nascent Ukraine by the Bolsheviks, against the will of the ethnic Russians whose lands had long been part of Russia.

ZZzzzzzWhat Here, educate yourself: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russians

ZZzzzzzWhat There was no insult. Oh, and my link proves my point absolutely. Rossiyane refers to nationality and not to ethnicity. The Russian ethnic group is Russians as an ethnic group. Your link defines ethnic Russians as Russkie - i.e. Russians as an ethnic group. Go back to the link I gave you, you will see at the very beginning that: "Russians (Russian: русские, russkiye) are an East Slavic ethnic group native to Russia,[36] who speak the Russian language and primarily live in Russia. They are the most numerous ethnic group in Russia constituting more than 80% of the country's population according to the census of 2010,[2] and the most numerous ethnic group in Europe." Thus, the citizens of the Donbass are ethnic Russians, and I was right all along, as always.

ZZzzzzzWhat Thank-you for having the courage to admit, albeit in a diagonal way, that I was right and you were wrong. I am seldom if ever wrong, something that has irritated many people and elicited admiration from many more. I will gladly leave the hypothetical insults out if you do not invite them in your posts to me.
