  1. Perhaps because when one thinks of killing an animal, it would be one's pet, not a random animal one just met. While on killing a human, he/she would most likely be a stranger rather than one's family member. I suppose that made the difference

  4. Perhaps because this gun only has a specific purpose, to kill a horse that most likely is your pet or comrade in arms (you can't be a cavalryman without a horse), while other guns can be used to shoot pretty much anything, mostly an "enemy" (for military guns, that is)
