I would say that their are some situations. in the military when you want things to sound as much as posible. for a example. I was in exercise. in a pine forest at night with a friend guarding the camp. suddenly I see things moving. I check with the friend. he is seeing something too. so my braine isn´t messing with me. We needen to put down heavy supressive fire. as heavy as you can do with a selectfire carbine. If you need to talk to someone radios and active hearing protection is a good thing.
