  11. I think occasional minor assaults between young lovers is more common and excusable than we like to think. There was a time when police would not get involved in 'a domestic' because they knew the couple would soon be 'working it out' in the marital bed and interference in a marriage could change many lives for the worse. It's an easy position to oppose with simplistic jibes like: So, you are in favour of wife beating?' but then again, the same sorts are supporting war in Ukraine... No - I'm not supporting any relationship violence; I'm saying 'shit happens' but it's normally a miniscule part of life from which we can learn remorse, forgiveness and how to be in a relationship.
