Comments by "Iazzaboyce" (@Iazzaboyce) on "Rationality during an epidemic of unreason - Steven Pinker" video.
It's completely irrational to question manmade climate change, because science tells us the earth is 5.6 billion years old and science has been recording earth temperatures for 150 years.

@typ044 So, when you state: "we can determine climate change cycles going back many millions of years" - are you saying there was climate change before man started using fossil fuels?
1
@typ044 So, you are saying at points in the last (4.6b or 6.6b) years the earth experienced heating cycles - but these were all slower than the current heating cycle - and this proves human activity is responsible for the difference. Am I correct - and if so, how do you calculate the difference?

@typ044 I note that you slipped in "we are causing" as though this was somehow a fact. How has it been proven that human activity causes climate change?
1
@typ044 I haven't said human activity is not causing climate change. I would not say that, because there is no proof that human activity is not causing climate change. There is also no proof that human activity is causing climate change - so I would not say that either. I'm not the type to go around making claims that are not proven. Really, you just made a false claim I said something I did not say - so you could say I was wrong for saying it. Bit odd - don't you think? Odd people go around making false claims and made up claims they have no proof for - and when they are challenged to provide the proof - they make personal attacks.

@typ044 Science is not a democracy - it's a science - it's supposed to arrive at conclusions based on proof - not opinion. My first comment is entirely rational. You assume I have done zero studies without proof.

@typ044 "By the lights of our best science these are irrational - if the goal is our best understanding of objective reality" Steven Plinker talking about claims that science is wrong on manmade climate change and covid vaccination. "making it completely rational to question whether or not we are contributing to the acceleration of climate change" (Gettin Radd & Fuggin Bustn)
