  1. The English idea of being judged by twelve of your fellow men is those fellow men make sure the court cant treat you in a way the twelve fellow men don't want the court to be able to treat them...Stops working when the jury is afraid of the court.

  2. You do not understand how the system works. The idea is no person is able to rule another person is guilty of a crime. There is a process and a court that must make this ruling. The system is subject to shortcomings and might make a mistake pronouncing a person guilty. However, the system cannot make a mistake and pronounce a person not guilty, this is because the system ruling not guilty was correct based on the evidence presented and because no person can rule another person is guilty of a crime.
