  6. the idea that a civilization will exhaust the energy from their own star seems kind of ridiculous to me. it makes a great sci-fi movie or something, but why wouldn't they just use birth control? What would they need with all that energy, and why would their technology not go the way our goes ... when we see an energy squeeze we conserve and engineer low power machines. I suppose it could be the cosmic debris from a giant space war maybe. I don't buy this ... sorry Freeman Dyson.
