  1. I am not sure how any proof house can justify putting proof stamps on pistol parts that are never assembled or used in a complete pistol. Not sure I would (or will) trust South African proof stamps now that we have seen proof stamps on parts never actually made into a complete pistol. Back in the late 70s US gun magazines were all raving about this pistol like it was the ticket to a pistolero's Heaven. Then it kind of faded from mention after a few articles. Of course back then, most of US pistol buyers were still naive and hadn't yet realized the gun makers themselves were paying the gun magazines only for articles that praised their products and not paying the gun magazines for articles that spoke truths and said this gun is junk. We almost never saw that, at least until Gun Tests and Turkey of the Month arrived.
