  4.  @JankoAcimovic  So do you have any suggestions as to how the peaceful division of a country or the establishment of (at least partially more independent) self-government in a region should be organised? My suggestion would be: elections in an area consisting of a large majority of residents with largely the same historical, cultural and linguistic background (e.g. Donbass, Great Britain or Serbia) in order to achieve the new desired degree of independence from the old membership determine. However, taking into account the experiences from the USSR and EU segregation, a corresponding international standard must presumably first be established. Anyway, in my opinion, at least the devastating collateral damage like that in Yugoslavia or Ukraine could be avoided.
