Ah, yes. Martin Luther. The man who's name was somehow missing from my catholic school history classes.
1000
While not much is known about his youth.... I DO think its safe to say it involved torturing as many cats as possible.

I'd love to see Hinckley's face when he learned that Jodey Foster is gay.

That sea-witch business escalated quickly.
285
This made my morning. Or rather, my morning was already made, I just remembered it.
168
I found myself repeatedly hoping he lived long enough to see the wall fall, but alas it was not to be. On the bright side, at least he didn't die by stepping on yet ANOTHER damnable bloody landmine!

@r_e046 YOU, my friend, have CLEARLY never attended a catholic school. 😉
83
She never got shot. So there's that.
59
Yeah, it's probably good you didn't go with shave club for men as a sponsor for this one.
44
Patience IS a virtue....but DAMN! 😮🖖
37
That was one amazing woman. It's amazing how willfully blind some people can be to the clear fact that their cruel, vicious, and morally vacant words, ideas, and behavior are wrong in and of themselves on their own merits, AND that in doing so they put themselves and their descendents on the WRONG side of history, from now to the end of mankind itself.
32
Every man was once a boy. Many still are. One of them even just lost an election.
32
Words from which Nero took EXACTLY the most hilariously horrible inspiration possible!
24
There should be a variant of the Peter principle where the talents you falsified don't translate well to the job of president. Call it the Orange Rule.
23
This is a poignant reminder that bridges beat walls every time.
23
That is more megaprojects than biographics, I think. 😉
21
Hey, you can't let a little thing like a guy hot pokering your brothers eyes to death to get in the way of your business.
18
@Rafael Gonzalez And Washington had a vital, decisive advantage in the form of France. (an amusing irony given his role in the French Indian war back before he was wearing British red rather than American blue!)
16
I can only imagine the lovely chaos he could have inflicted had he lived - try telling HIM he couldn't marry whosoever he chose!
16
The fact that you are willing to even equate the assasination of a human being with a STATUE being removed (EVENTUALLY and at the Universities request and expense) is DEFINITELY a sign something is VERY wrong. With YOU.
15
The sheer absurd unlikelyness of Johnson being the great civil rights champion leaves me bemused every time I think about it.

Fantastic episode. It'd be great if you did a Sammy The Bull episode. He's got his own YouTube channel now, and the VAST amount of stories he's posted provide a great source of complimentary first hand accounts that have brought his life into a far more balanced focus than the volumes already out there, most of which usually came from governmental sources or rivals he testified against that turned out to be more than a little unfair and gave us all a very skewed image of what he did, why he did it, who he was, and why and how he came to be.
12
And he never thought it'd be a swell idea to take a military vacation in hell... err, try to conquer Russia in the winter time I mean.
12
The fact that it isn't a radioactive hole in the ground is amazing. For all the horrors of today, it would be immeasurably worse were it NOT for him. Too many people today misunderstand the fundamental nature of democracy and politics. If politics is the art of compromise - and it IS - then Democracy is the art of ensuring that the compromise in question is implemented and just. Trump operated as if the other 70% of the nation didn't deserve his respect, acknowledgment, consideration, or help. Why? Because they didn't vote for him. That WAS not normal, just, or sustainable. I'd mention his lies, but lying was the ONLY thing he did equally to everyone regardless of party or color. The only difference was democrats and other opposition didn't fall for it.
11
Fantastic with one exception - the constant use of images of time and Roman legions When talking about Spartan warfare and soldiers. Nitpicky, I know!!
11
I don't know about you, but when I conquer a city I find myself with too many fascinating scrolls to read but too little time during my busy day to read them! That's why I use shortform! 😉🗡
10
They should do a British man in the high castle series. AMAZING show for anyone who loves a good historical What If. THERE is an idea for a new SW Series - a look at historical what if scenarios! I'd buy that for a dollar.
9
There was a movie made about Ryan White. It was an early HBO film I think. It was deeply affecting and well worth a watch.
8
The problem here is the assumption that both the left and the right are EQUALLY biased. That they both lie. They don't. Fox and its ilk are nearly entirely to blame, along with trump and his obscene gop political afterbirth that's still at it.
8
Lovely story, truly.
8
Shadow king 13 mentions Truman capote Me: a video on Philip Seymour Hoffman too!
8
I love the phrase "his life was a progression of Sunday afternoons". (but don't quote me quoting!)
8
I would LOVE to see more episodes about Ancient Rome and then men and woman who made it so great and terrible (often simultaneously) and above all FASCINATING!
8
Feeding and maintaining that number of soldiers is difficult even NOW. Arguably the single greatest strength of the US Military is it's Rome-like aptitude in logistics.
8
I am TIRED Maximus! Hence Rome invents coffee. Or someone gets smothered with a pillow. This is VERY confusing.
7
As opposed to Thomas Edison who said "The harder OTHER people work the more luck I seem to have."
7
That, I must admit, was one HELL of a coincidence. I would have thought the irony alone would have kept him warm enough to survive the cold, cold Atlantic even after the Titanic had sunk...
7
What a fantastic show that was! Helped me through the difficult period in my life when The Sopranos was as done as Tony was dead in the finale. 🙊YES. 🙈HE DIED. 🙉HE DID. 🤫I'll hear no more of it! 😉
7
So was nichols the inspiration for the skeezy writer from the movie Unforgiven I wonder? If so, NIFTY.
7
And yet, somehow, it also doesn't.
7
If he's still alive all he has to do is go on Hannity, blame the mainstream media, and get pardoned by trump.
7
When I think Pollock, I picture Ed Harris's face. Fantastic video, you should start another channel on art and art history in this format.
7
Stop cranking out blue meth and never, EVER use STIVIA and you'll be having absolutely NOTHING to worry about other than old angry disabled former drug lords in nursing homes who have a deep and abiding love of front desk bells, wheelchair bombs, and more spite than self preservation instinct.
6
Her parents should have been extatic! DEFINITELY a Habsburg glass half full situation! She didn't drool, had a normal chin, didn't need crank to reel in her tongue, and could speak in complete sentences.
6
@edwincasimir28 Definitely. One way or another that particular ship was already sinking.
6
@scepticalwalker3984 I've got a puppy you can kick after you tell me Santa isn't real! 🤔😉🤫
6
That depends ENTIRELY upon where you shared it. 🤔
6
You, Mister IMPERIALIST Whistler are nothing but an Austriomexican royal apologist! Whatever the hell that is. 😉
5
That would make sense. They're advertising EVERYWHERE else right now.
5
blackzed Trump. Who - in addition to being an incompetent whiny dipshit - is also a mass murderer. 60,000+ men, women, and children.
