A majority of uninfected adults show pre-existing antibody reactivity against SARS-CoV-2 “The main finding in this study is that at a population level, the vast majority of adults show antibody reactivity against SARS-CoV-2 antigens.” “Because of a relatively low number of COVID-19 cases in BC after the first wave, it is extremely unlikely that this antibody reactivity results from a direct exposure to SARS-CoV-2. Moreover, findings of similar antibody reactivity in prepandemic adult sera and from sera obtained from infants under one year of age confirms that we are detecting genuine cross-reactivity rather than reactivity to SARS-CoV-2 from asymptomatic COVID-19 cases.”

@firsttakemanhattan i am not a medical scientist. from my reading it all goes down to whether or not a tested person has a virus that presents a threat to that person or anyone else. these PCR tests do not test for whole virus and therefore say nothing about whether the tested has or had the virus. there is a correlation between the a amount of viral dna present and actual viral load. the problem is that the pcr test can find even the smallest fraction of material and amplify it. if too many amplifications are needed before detection the test becomes meaningless. note that the test does not begin with DNA at all but uses a reverse transcriptase enzyme to convert original viral RNA target into DNA which can be amplified. any of these test can detect viral load at an early point if there is enough present. a high cycle threshold indicates that even if detected at that high level , there was never enough original material to represent a viral threat. which is why the test should only be used to confirm a diagnosis in a symptomatic person and not as a screening tool. my posting above goes to the point that most people already have antibodies that react to covid and if not immune, are probably not going to get any more benefit from the proposed gene therapy

in BC, drug overdose deaths have always exceeded covid deaths right from day 1. world these be called suicide?

@terryarmbruster7986 you make a good point. BC only refers to overdose deaths and not anything about the circumstances. i had just assumed addicts but is not necessarily true
