@marshmallowpuff4899 ... All I am saying is if china wants to expand it's industrial base, like they have been doing, china need to keep the cost of living down... They can't do that by giving away natural resources to a tiny few and bailing them out, not if, when they fail... We do that in the west and we know what it is like.... It leads to the tiny few having all the assets, asset price inflation, debt deflation and the cannibalizations of industry [deindustrialization] .. What we are seeing in the west.

That is not clear yet. If they want to keep their industry they need to intervene on behalf of the people.

Too funny...

@Nine-Signs I like that. You characterize financialized capitalism as prioritizing rich men's dogs over commoner's children.

@Nine-Signs Very good observations [good catch] My meantor in these issues is Michael Hudson. He wrote 'supper imperialism' in the early seventies which was about establishing a world currency. He got no interest outside of the CIA who used it as an instruction manual and successfully established the dollar as the world medium of exchange. Now-a-days he has interest from the chinese for the same reason... I have bunches of hunches by listening to Michael Hudson... One of them is that the chinese won't sink dollar investors because the want cheap resources from contries that don't use chinese currency yet. The international chinese currency area ain't much yet and if they stiff dollar investors there might be some retaliatory measures that will make dollars harder to come by for chinese companies.

@thevan4476 I is not clear that china will take the west's approach.. If china wants to remain competitive in the world labor markets they need to keep the vulture capitol at bay and keep the rents low. If the chinese take a nationalized restructuring approach they that will raise huge alarm bells in the west.

@bobhabib7662 I tend to think china will follow through with their industrial capitolist agenda. That means that they need to keep down the cost of, among other things, housing.
