Is russia still losing the war because of lack of equipment, planning, incompetence or low moral?
23
I think russia returning control of Luhans and Donesk to the LPR and DPR is a more realistic way of thinking about it. They have been under occupation for eight years and the occupiers have to give up or die.
14
I think they gave them orders not to surrender... My feeling is that there are people in there that will embarrase the Ukraine operation... The US is sending another 40billion worth of millary aid... This is one of the greatest boons to millatary hardware contractors in the US ever... And that is what US policy is about.
13
Sevedonesk fell in like three hours... It seems like most of the city is still in good shape.
10
@32shumble Despite those issues russia will continue to hammer away at the donbass untill it is controlled by the DPR and LPR... Ukraine will continue to suffer 10 to 20 times the death of millatary personel as russia. The mamoth task of finding and identifying Ukraine millatary personel's bodies will fall on the russians... 'One way to lose. The question at hand is "IS russsia causing a world wide shortage of duct tape?"
9
They did beat back the ukes from the donbass who has been digging in for eight years, armed by nato and killing thousands... They died in the thousands.
9
My understanding is that the russians have brought in bunker buster misles... The plant will be destroyed.
8
If they have the russian battle war breakdown why don't they publish it? Why don't they upgrade their map? Putin has a 90% favorable rating in russia.... Why does he have to make the millatary flatten a lot of towns to show a victory?
6
If the Ukrainians wanted to use the port in Odesa, why did they mine it?
6
@hermanvonshaft4662 Russia is gobbling them up.... It is one of their three main goals: demilitarization. Now that Nato ain't got no more to give them, ukraine is pretty much demilitarized... That goal along with recognizing the sovereignty of Lugansk and Donetsk as part of Ukraine was spelled out in the '15 minsk accords, which russia has been harping on for years... Those areas along with another two are now part of russia. Another goal, not sure it was in the minsk accords, is denazification of Ukraine... The real question that we need to answer is if goebbels had gerbilles? youtube.com/watch?v=4txmBNCAXg8
6
@lottat6003 The west aknoledges that russia is in control of a hundred miles to the north as well as the the sea in that region... My understanding is that the Ukraine admin said that anyone who is surrendering will be sumerily exictued by their own commandos and mercinaries.
6
@petertwiss4215 Funny... It apears as if the majority of the ukrainian nationalist build up in armements and personall the donbass over the past eight years have been destroyed, 75% of the donbass has been liberatied. It also apears that Ukraine has a great deal of difficulty rearming and making anything like an effective strategy to either hold teritory or rout the russians from what teritory they have ceased. The US task of destroying russia millatarily or economically as well as isolating euope, as well as the rest of the world, from russia and china seems to have failed as well.
5
This is not a team sport... There are people on both sides who are losing their lives. Regardless of who wins/loses this war is very sad.
5
With Vanderlin saying that Ukraine has lost 100K, literally she said 'officers' I hope he runs and survives the war.
4
Remember that they pinned russia between ruthless and evil and innefective and hapless when the russians liberate the donbass and ask for a treaty... They have been showing maps that show russia's liberation of the donbas but they have been saying at the same time that the russian goal of liberating the donabass is impossible.
4
@Mwwwwwwwwe How did murdering, by estimates in Iraq a million ded, not imperialism... Six months into the conflict and Kyiv is intact but the power grid is out... Shock and Awe in iraq on the first days the power grid as well as infrastructure was flattened.
4
Thanks for covering this...
3
Certainly the americans made regeme change in Kyiv in '14
3
Strong interview, though questions..
3
@edwardbernthal160 It feels like russia wil defend the annexed territories and dig at ukrain's offensives until much of ukraine is russian territory...
3
Interesting that Ukraine seems to be more interested in the narrative than their massive loss of life.... Ukrainan millatary people are important and can live long lives.... So many gone. Reality is important...
3
I doubt it will ever happen that there will be a summery of his, and Sky New's prognostications and characterizations of this war... I believe they were saying that ukraine is winning and will win in the end and that russia was alternately weak or evil and will will be soundly routed from ukraine, including the crimea. The western idea of news is a pro western bias replete with inaccuracies and without history or context.
2
@anotherhappylanding4746 I suppose it is annoying for some who want to observe something happen but it is probably best for those on the ground on all sides... I thoght they would be on a two month schedule so that they could come up with a proposal but it looks as if they are camped out picking targets very carefully. I am not sure that the russians can sue for peace because the americans seem have gotten everything we want.... If europe is being such dupes, I wounder if they can pay us back for the weapons in dollars for keeping them 'safe'
2
@des_smith7658 I am not happy about this at all.
2
My understanding is that they are shot if they try to surrender... They have also gone into negotiations to free some non combatants in excange for food.
2
@3395ZHQ There really isn't any fighting going on in Mariopol... There is some milatary personel in soviet era bomb shelters that seem to have orders to shoot if they surrender... They have been there for like two months... I am thinking that there are some poeple among the ukraine millatary personel that they don't want the world to know about... There are unconfirmed reports that those Ukraine personel are negotiating with the russians to send food for letting civilians free.
2
@roadent217 Russia didn't want offencive weapons next door and didn't want the coninued butchering of the russian population next door as well and they said so but non one listened... They had a way to comunicate their desires and they did. The goal posts were moved after the 'special operations' began now that Nato [the US] is training and equiping an army in neighboring Nato states... They are being shelled from west ukraine so they have to take that over as well... It is very sad.
2
American football anyone? Ukraine got the ball on their five yard line and now are fourth and ten and are lining up for another forward pass instead of punting.
2
My understanding is that putin anounced that the donbass was the millatary's pirmary target for the next few months. Soon all of the towns in or near the DPR will not be strategic at all.
2
Is Syria a victory for the US?
2
"They need heavy millatary equipment" Maybe so but how are they going to get it into the theatre without petrol? How are they going to move if they get shot if they get out in the open? No theory... Just a map after the fact.
2
We need to sacrifice everything for freedom.... Future generations as well.
2
@strafniki1080 So sad about the Ukes and orcs.... Many won't live to fight another day.
2
@strafniki1080 Seems like russia had to give some stuff up that the west wanted to take away in the first place but the west seems more desparate than the east.... The east includes russia, china and the Shanghai Coop agreemet group...
2
@govidiotsheep Not really funny....
2
Fail upward.
2
@govidiotsheep I think I got a stomach ache.
2
Russia makes huge claims of destruction of the majority of weapons sytems that were supplied since '14. My impression is that they will be slowly taking teritory until Ukraine desides it doesn't want to send more poeple into the grinder.
2
@rockrabbit253 To me, the expansion of nato is empty because they arn't able to fullfill the goals of rolling back the capitalist espansion of russia, china and the rest of the world to 'democracy' , deindustrialzation and feudalism. To me this is the inflection point where pre-captialst ideologs are going to lose.
2
@cameronspence4977 He recently replaced his security commanders in mass... I get the impassion that he is probably going to be killed by military commanders or others....
2
@rockrabbit253 Yes it did.... What bothers the russians is not the expansion in nato by name but the build up of arms and millatary at their border... The provocation of a step up of 10 times the shelling of ukraininan targets in ukraine by ukraine, mostly russian ethnics... Pre capitalist feudalist-impiralist modles are going the way of wind born cargo ships, pallace intriuges including behadings, buring people in public squares. Supporting industry by supporting people and infrastructure is winning out over neoliberal-feudalist models.
2
@Writeous0ne Her horrible take is that the resilience of the Ukrainians is crucial.... She is with the cabal that feels that Ukraine should fight for Nato to the last freezing, starving, burnt out Ukrainian.
2
@rockrabbit253 Why would Nato coup Ukraine if they wanted Ukraine to be peaceful democratic?
2
@Lilla88able To be sure the Russia that existed before the start of the conflict dosn't exist anymore. Russia has taken New York and there are M1A1 Abrams tanks storming Moscow.
2
Did he stop saying that?
2
@VlD3adly I don't think russia has a choice in decoupling from the west as well. They have been supporting the ruble by demanding payments in ruble since the money they made off of their other stuff they sent were impounded by the west.
2
At the time I write this, Severdonesk has already been delivered to the LPR.
2
@delanoscorpio9652 I think it is more like 80% of the area's that declaired independence from Ukraine, where Ukraine forces had been digging in for eight years... Positions never to be restablished again, men and boys that will never breathe again.... Generally when people enter into a course of action and suffer losses they double down on those actions.... Now the sponsors in the west seem to be backing down because they didn't seem to get what they wanted from the conflict.
2
Archimosk was used as a place where they shelled Donsesk City for ten years.... The Russians are taking casualties and doing some uncharicteristic risks in that direction because they want to make the Donbass safe.

@des_smith7658 This is something that the head of the Minstry of Truth put out... youtube.com/watch?v=lNcEVYq2qUg To be sure, she was part of the team that insisted trump was installed by putin.
