  1. Rome actually gained more from the tariffs and taxes imposed on British goods imported to Gaul then they did after invading the island and taking it over. Britain was a massive drain on the economy of the Empire. As far as Italy in WW2, Italy had some of the best Interwar doctrines on Mechanized Infantry and Armored warfare. But they couldn't industrialize enough to put it to use. They also had some seriously good moments but they were sadly overshadowed. I live in the US and I do seriously want to see our Southern neighbors do well. Prosperity for all nations in the America's would be amazing.
