@Timorias "The scientific consensus, supported by numerous studies, is that over 99%* of the current observed warming is due to human activity, since 1950. "
and you understand how they have figured out how to distinguish between natural and man-caused warming? but you can't explain it to me, right...?
ok, anyway, I believe! I believe!! just call me a believer, great........... I believe in the bible, the tooth fairy, and these studies, great......
what is the proposed solution?

@Timorias "So three right? If I gave you 3 separate occasions/studies where scientists recorded a rise in sea level, would that make it fact? Or at least a fact for you, by your standards? If so I’d be happy to give you the three studies."
I am not interested in your bible studies!
do you believe in god?
if I gave you a king james bible, a koran, and a hebrew bible, you would have to believe in god, yes????
anyone who does not believe in god after reading these three documents must be an idiot, correct?
anyway, no, I do not want to see any of your bible studies... I told you, I concede, the sea levels are rising. you've convinced me yourself. you are quite the preacher man.....
let's move on.

@Timorias "investing into renewable energy and alternative fuels will give those industries a boost and make them more competitive."
how on earth will it make them more competitive? you mean subsidize them to make them completive because they cannot naturally compete?
ok, great, now we are getting into the economics....
who pays for this, how much will it cost, and what will the impact be?
ya know, a simple cost/benefit analysis.
have ya seen one?
give me some numbers....
will it cost $2.7bil per year to reduce CO2 emissions globally by 0.00003%?
NOT INTERSETED!
will it cost $211 per year to reduce CO2 emissions globally by 86.39%?
I'll support it all day long.
give me, and cite, the numbers????
let me guess, you have no clue.........
you have no idea what any cost would be, nor do you know what any impact any of your proposals would have, correct?
again, we are back in the "religious" (as google won't allow me to use the other word) territory here...

@Timorias
sorry, I missed one of your posts, but this was really all that was new...
"This actually saves money and makes the system more reliable. Why do you think flexibility would make it less efficient?"
because there is only ONE cheapest form of energy. ANY and ALL "alternatives would drive up costs.
this basic economic fact is something you don't seem to understand...
let me put it to you this way... human beings ALL OF THEM on the planet.. they all want the same form of energy. do you know what form of energy that is?
no, not renewable, not green, not wind, not solar, not alternative.... human bongs want CHEAP energy!
and they, by nature, will consume the cheapest form of energy until that form of energy is depleted!
destroying your nation's economy on the world's stage, while other nations continue to build coal burning power plants is INSANE!

@Timorias what is it that you propose the US do?
so far, what you want is to take my money and give it to "energy companies" like say... "solyndra", correct?
that didn't work, did it?
what next?
what are your proposals?
and what is your cost benefit analysis for each, especially given that you can't control india or china?
you may convince me to support these proposals!!!
go ahead!
I already told you! if it will cost the US $312bil per year to lower global CO2 emissions by 0.000021%, NO THANKS!
if it will cost the US $211 per yar to lower global CO2 emissions by 96,734%, I'M ALL IN!
give me a proposal.
the cost.
and the impact it will have.
go ahead, convince me to support one of your proposals!
if you do not know this stuff yourself, why do you support them????? you seem smarter than that! why would you support any proposal you are going to give me if you personally do not understand the costs and the benefits!
again, we're back to you're trying to convince me to join your religion......

@Timorias "Oh, ok so all evidence is moot because you personally believe all of science is a religion because you personally don’t understand it? Do I have that about right? Again, is saying the earth is a globe, a religion"
oh good grief, now the spinning backwards in circles begins...
you have not given me EVIDENCE of ANYTHING! the only physical evidence we ever discussed was the sea levels, to which you admitted that no human being can actually notice. ie- there is NO physical evidence of rising sea levels.
other than that, we talked about the consensus of scientific theory.
you dont remember that part of our discussion???
I'm not going to do this all over again, point by point...
I'll do this one point again, and that's it.....
there are NO scientists on planet earth that will argue about the shape of the planet. there was once a time when there was great debate about it! but not anymore.....
regarding man-caused climate change, and the ability for man to control the planet's climate as if we had a big thermostat, there is currently much debate......
do
you
understand
the
difference?
