rising water levels?? I grew up in south florida (long time ago) and am about to retire in the keys... the keys look just like they did in 1970. and that would be one of the places you would FIRST see evidence of rising water levels... good grief....

Do you believe the sun orbits earth?" exactly my point! these THEORIES have been PROVEN! when and where has your theory of rising sea levels been proven? the canal walls in itally built centuries ago? no, they are still working..... the streets of manhattan, which are barely above sea level? no, that's all fine.... the limestone peninsula of florida and the keys, again, barely above sea level? no, that's all doing ok... I have seen evidence the world is round. I have seen evidence that we are a tiny part of a solar system, which is a tiny part of a galaxy, which is one of billions of those... NO scientists on planet earth disputes these things... I have NOT seen ANY evidence the seas are rising, and there is great scientific debate on-going about "global warming" and rising sea levels....

@Timorias men say that god exists... it cannot be physically verified. but some choose to believe. men say the sea levels are rising, although as you say it cannot be seen by, how did you put it..? "a random person in one part of the world could never prove it"... but some choose to believe. men say that the natural warming of the planet after the last ice age has stopped, and has reversed. but that too cannot be proven... but some choose to believe.

I agree, the planet's climate has NEVER been static. heard of an ice age? know how the great lakes were formed? yea, you seem like a smart guy.... so when you say things like: "the time period in which we can prevent that future is now." what is it that you believe that YOU (or even we) can do now to control the planets evolution? and you mentioned cost. what is the cost of these actions? do you know what the "side effects" of those actions will be? if you can't answer these questions, you are dangerous to the human species, in my opinion, if you want to push for any action... do you have ANY answers to ANY of those questions?

The emergent portion of the platform was created during the Eocene to Oligocene as the Gulf Trough filled with silts, clays, and sands. The limestone is topped with sandy soils deposited as ancient beaches over millions of years as global sea levels rose and fell. now, question 2 (that I know you will not answer). what about the bridge foundations that are anchored into the limestone and bedrock? why cant we see water level changes there?

@Timorias forget the mangroves and corals, what about the concreate structures? why would I not be able to see that a sea wall constructed 80 years ago is now not high enough? where on earth has that happened? and how can that happen in one location on the planet, but not others, if, as you say, the seas are al connected?
