Growth in commerce and tax revenue offset the investment." offset the investment?? what does that mean? more jobs? growth in commerce? tax revenue?? do you not understand where the government gets money?? here, let me spell this out, again, using some arbitrary numbers... lets suppose the gov. spends $1bil on infrastructure, creating great paying jobs, (woohoo!) and taxing those paychecks at 30% (creating tax revenue). the gov. would get back 30% of $1bil - $300mil. now, let's suppose the gov. spends that entire revenue, $300mil, on...... infrastructure! creating great paying jobs, (woohoo!) and taxing those paychecks at 30% (creating tax revenue). the gov. would get back 30% of $30omil - $90mil. now, let's suppose the gov. spends that entire revenue, $90 mil, on...... infrastructure! creating great paying jobs, (woohoo!) and taxing those paychecks at 30% (creating tax revenue). the gov. would get back 30% of $90 mil - $27mil. now, let's suppose the gov. spends that entire revenue, $27 mil, on...... infrastructure! creating great paying jobs, (woohoo!) and taxing those paychecks at 30% (creating tax revenue). the gov. would get back 30% of $27 mil - $8.1mil. are you starting to notice a pattern here jeff! giving americans paychecks, with money that must first be taken from americans, does not generate or create wealth, increased tax revenue, or growth in commerce! taking money from my paycheck, to provide me with another paycheck, doesn't work!! you would think this was common sense, no??? close your eyes, and think really hard about it jeff!! taking %30 of YOUR money, to give you paychecks with the money I took FROM YOU, will quickly lead to your going broke! wise up.....
