@JohnDoe-rk7ej How exactly is something, that never goes near your genes, gene therapy? Of course it is a vaccine. It presents antigens to the immune system, without the dangers of infection, to evoke an immune response. That is exactly what a vaccine is. And mRNA vaccines were developed against the original SARS outbreak, so it's not the "first of its kind". Just because you're ignorant of the facts, doesn't mean they don't exist.

@chocbear8394 People who've been vaccinated are not "landing sick in the hospital". Take a look at the stats, 99% of those so sick they require hospitalization, are unvaccinated, and the other 1% does not have a functioning immune system.

@ilikefreespeech3565 Yes, at an event where 96% were fully vaccinated, 74% of those, who tested positive for Covid were vaccinated. Most were asymptomatic, none of the vaccinated required hospitalization. That shows the vaccine works.

@ThomasBrunkard Jenner discovered vaccination (using the vaccinia virus to protect against variola). Inoculation had been used since about the 8th century. The problem with inoculation, was it had around a 9% fatality rate, which was still better than contracting smallpox. Cowpox never killed humans.

@KamalasVACANTwomb In many diseases, especially bacterial ones, naturally acquire immunity is stronger and more lasting than artificially acquired immunity, but the opposite is true with Covid. The immune response the mRNA vaccines induce are broader than from infection, so more protective against new strains. Of course, the best immunity is found in individuals who recovered from Covid, and then were vaccinated. As to the vaccinated wearing masks, while they don't get as ill as the unvaccinated, and don't transmit even a fifth of the virus and unvaccinated person would, the vaccinated can still spread some virus. And we have individuals in our community, too young to be vaccinated. So only a selfish prick would go unmasked, even if vaccinated. And only a fool considers three an infinite amount.

@Fishflorida59 Someone trained to drive a car is a better driver than someone who's never been behind the wheel before. You're given a driver's license to demonstrate you have some basic competency in driving, but having a driver's license does not completely prevent automobile accidents. The same is true of demonstrating you've educated your immune system against the virus. It does not prevent all transmission, but does prevent most.
