  2. Turn the tables. Say a white person was afraid of their neighbors because they are black. Would we be sympathetic or call the guy a racist? It sounds like he's actually transferring his racism onto his neighbors. If he isn't racist, he needs to convince his neighborhood to hold a block party, so all his neighbors can get to know each other. We do that in my neighborhood. It is really fun since we have people who grew up in many regions of the US, Israel, Poland, China, Ethiopia, Japan, Lebanon, Nigeria, Korea, etc.. The food at our block parties is amazing.
