  1. The problem with wind and solar, is they are intermittent. And our storage ability cannot overcome that problem. We need clean nuclear power, both to transition to more renewable energy, and to supplement it during times the sun is not shining or the wind blowing.

  4. Not enough. Closing the nuclear plants was very shortsighted. And what Japanese disaster? In Fukashima, people died of the quake, the tsunami and panic, but not from nuclear radiation. If that was why Germany shut down their clean power plants, they really overreacted.

  5. We need to invest more in researching fusion. Until then, clean fission plants are much safer than burning coal.

  6. A guy I worked for (as an engineer, software, hardware, structural) made his own biodiesel from restaurant oil waste. He had to strip off the glycerin backbone, and used this for cool packs. Problem is, biodiesel is incredibly smelly, worse than regular diesel.
