  1. In his public testimony, Michael Cohen avowed that Trump cheats on his taxes and used fraud to obtain bank loans. That makes examination of Trump's tax returns a valid investigation, not a mere fishing expedition.

There is a law, put in place because of presidential graft, that allows the Ways and Means Committee to examine tax records. They have, as is their legal right, told the IRS to turn Trump's tax records over.Trump is, once again, trying to obstruct the law. It is a shame that republicans have no respect for the law.

  6. There is no need for a subpoena. Ways and Means has already used the correct law. If the IRS does not supply his returns, they are breaking the law. 26 U.S. Code § 6103. (f) Disclosure to Committees of Congress (1) Committee on Ways and Means, Committee on Finance, and Joint Committee on Taxation Upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives, the chairman of the Committee on Finance of the Senate, or the chairman of the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request, except that any return or return information which can be associated with, or otherwise identify, directly or indirectly, a particular taxpayer shall be furnished to such committee only when sitting in closed executive session unless such taxpayer otherwise consents in writing to such disclosure.
