@crisnmaryfam7344 So more than a week ago, one "good person with a gun" stopped a mass shooting event. How many mass shooting events have happened since then? A dozen? More? In Philly, when one gunman opened fire, other armed idiots started shooting, and many innocents were hit in the crossfire. It would be better that nobody, other than police, were armed in public.

@missedinformation7068 Many of those beliefs are due to propaganda, from the same groups that buy our representative's votes.

I don't consider laws, that allow the purchase of a semi-automatic rifle, without a background check, strict. And it does not matter how strict a city or state makes their laws, when a scofflaw can drive to a neighboring state, with lax laws. That is why there needs to be federal gun restrictions.

All places where most of the guns used in crimes, were obtained through out-of-state straw purchases.

While only 10.6% of homicides are done with knives, 73.6% are done with guns. Obviously, an intelligent solution will include both semi-automatic weapons and handguns. It is sophistry to pretend otherwise. Other countries have inner-city poverty, without all the gun deaths. Stop pointing fingers away from the real problem, too many dangerous guns in too many dangerous hands. All we need do, is copy Canada's sensible gun laws, that still allow good citizens to be armed.

Canada doesn't punish law abiding citizens, with a PAL license. We could do the same.

And how do felons like you get guns? Most are acquired through straw purchases from gun shops, in states with lax laws. If straw purchases and out-of-state gun purchases were illegal, and there was a federal requirement for background checks for any sale, even a private sale, you couldn't get a gun.

First many illegal guns in our cities come from outside the city or state, often through straw purchases. Banning straw purchases would not disarm law abiding citizens, but prevent those who should not have a gun, from having one. Second, since many states do not have universal background checks, for all weapons, such checks should be mandated federally, for all purchases. Once again, that will not take guns away from good citizens.

@crisnmaryfam7344 And in Philadelphia, one gunman opened fire, and many other armed idiots returned that fire. Innocent people were hit in the crossfire. You spam all videos, with the same comment, about the single time an armed person stopped another armed person, ignoring the countless incidents where an armed citizenry made matters more dangerous.

Other countries have gangs, and less violence. Why?

One case, out of thousands, is an outlier.

They all occurred this weekend.
