@Uick You are comparing an armed mob, that tried to take over the capitol, with a group of peaceful protestors, marching in freedom square. The Jan. 6 insurrectionists were trying to prevent the lawfully elected president from taking office, in order to keep a tyrant, who never won the popular vote, to illegally stay in power. Those in Maidan, organized as a grassroots protests, because the president was breaking his word, to form a trade alliance with the EU, and instead did so with Russia. If those protestors had not been attacked, by militarized police, and violent felons release from prison, Yanukovych could have stayed in power. Instead, he used truly brutal means to break up the protests, firing on unarmed people with live ammunition. Protest leaders were kidnapped, and tortured to death. That brutality is what caused everyday Ukrainians to do whatever they could to help the protestors, provide medical aid, food and clothing, or join the march. The tension between Ukraine and Russia is due to Russia's invasion of Crimea and Donbas, when Putin's puppet fled to Russia.
