With respect. Three words: Samuel B Roberts. If more is required, try HMS Campbelltown. Add USS Johnston; a ship that sank under the combined weight of the balls of its crew. IJN's Mutsu was a ship under an unlucky star. I-19 fired the most successful torpedo salvo of all time. HMS Warspite, a ship which earned its name. From my perspective, reading and hearing about the individual ships is more nuanced than class histories, particularly due to confusion with national narratives. However, those same national narratives ably lionize the individual ships; often the spur for a deeper interest in naval matters.

You attracting trolls, Drach? That means you're doing good work. Most of us enjoy yours-and Doctor Clarke's-content. You provide valuable between the wars/antebellum context, among other useful things. In fact, you're at 40% of a million folks who enjoy your content enough to subscribe. For perspective, that's 2000 times my subs (after 13 years on YT). Same with the trolls, by the way. No one trolling you has even one percent of your fanbase. Does that lead to butthurt? Probably a motivator. Folks like that can be safely left alone to deal in private with their issues. Not your circus. Not your monkeys.
