  2. Both sides have and do engage in gerrymandering. In fact, one of the three cases before the court is one of Dem gerrymandering to the detriment of Republicans. (The other two, obviously, are the reverse.) But what has happened is that the computer technology that enables this has improved SO much that it is much less an art (despite calling this guy a Michelangelo) and much more of a science. Furthermore, the bit about manipulating questions on the census is what makes this case a lot more egregious.

  3. The primary purpose of the census, let us remember, is to ascertain how many people are HERE. And the degree to which a particular question predictably undermines that primary objective is the degree to which its inclusion is questionable.
