  2. Everybody quotes the line "We hold these truths to be self-evident................" But the next line is more relevant here. "That to secure these rights governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed." Shooting a guy SEVEN time when it's not apparent that even one time would have been justified hardly constitutes a "just power". And as for the "governed", they're the ones protesting.
