@aezean5618 Not that easy. It was Russia who chose to stop negotiations, not Ukraine. Whatever Boris said, it was not on behalf of other countries or even NATO. Nor did he have any leverage on Ukraine. He gave them an option. So, you don't know how things had turned out if Boris did not open his mouth. That's speculation. Fact is that Russia ended Negotiations, not Ukraine.
I do remember Zeleksnky later offering to let go of any NATO ambitions to end the war. Russia said "too late". This was after Russia made progress with the invasion. See, same thing, Russia made some advancement and now was not willing to compromise anymore.
Also, Putin mentioned that not everything was agreed on in the draft, it was not ready to be signed by Zelenksy anyhow. Wasn't an issue that Ukraine was ready to let go of any ambitions to join NATO, but also wanted security assurances from Western countries, and that's where there was no agreement?
And, do you trust Russia? Do you trust the country that told you they have no intentions to invade Ukraine and then do so 4 days later?
