@escobeer3605 you too man. good talking with you.

So this one weapon system is what you believe will change the course of the entire war huh?

Heard that every time a new wunderwaffe has arrived but russian air power continues to become more active not less.

@escobeer3605 that does seem a practical assessment but to what end? while some of these recent weapons systems have been fairly advanced theres not so many of them and we've given russia opportunities to learn each one as they've come out and how much more can we really send?

@escobeer3605 at this point even if they could knock out the bridge it wouldnt matter as they are nowhere close to crimea and even if they did manage to do so crimea seems to have a lot of choke points to its north and can be supplied by ferry and air and the bridge itself can be quickly repaired and has some of the highest concentrations of air defense systems in the theater.... i think ukraine was too ambitious going after crimea. they should have tried to go for more achievable targets and build up some kind of momentum and they werent going to do that in the flat open fields of southern ukraine and into the teeth of the russian defenses...

@escobeer3605 i guess the biggest hang up i have to that claim is the artillery part. Russia started this war with a 10x advantage and the fighting has been on flat open fields where russia has dominance in drones and with air power and they have ammunition for the artillery in the millions and are producing them to scale while ukraine is now down to cluster munitions and production expansion isnt going to keep pace with what ukraine is firing now. Lets say the ukrainians could surprise them. And lets say they could surprise them again. How long can you keep that up when he can see the whole battlefield? Eventually hes going to figure you out and then you are borked... I just cant see ukraine doing anything like what they are claiming seeing as beyond all this russia has missile dominance as well...

@escobeer3605 archer is a great system but russia has enough msta's that they can leave many for counter battery missions that the ukrainians cannot and they largely have to do hit and run while russia can sustain fire for long periods. They also have longer range with systems like the pion and their guided artillery rounds are laser based and can hit moving targets while ours is gps and the satellites are getting jammed. Russia also recently announced a 25x increase in production capacity of their guided rounds as well. Also archer wasnt meant to be such a workhorse and they wear the barrels out much faster then their russian counterparts and have a lot further and more precarious distance to travel to get it back to be maintenanced and are now down to cluster munitions even...

@escobeer3605 ya but theres only been 48 archer systems proced so far....and ukraine likely doesnt have all of them...

@escobeer3605 i realize that, but not much better in the other examples and the more systems you add the more you complicate your logistics, maintenance and training. but yes clusters can be horrifying weapons and they were designed to take down large formations of unprotected troops like say in the korean war when the chinese were throwing huge formations of light infantry at us but a standard HE shell can very accurate these days and blow apart bunkers, or building or armor or what have you while cluster munitions are more like spreading grenade shrapnel over a wide area. russians have cluster munitions have used them in the field, but they are primarily using HE and for good reason and their industrial output of them is insane...

I dunno man...if the russians were already shooting down whole himars barrages how is this thing going to get through when its so much larger and easier to detect and its travelling further distances? Give it a few weeks and you wont hear about these anymore when the russians start bringing them down.

If the ukrainians were doing so well why did their offensive fail to take any ground and why is bahkmut still in russian hands? Ukraine has never managed to succeed against the main russian forces for 2 years and their only successful offensive of the war was in a place russia wasnt really defending but you think they are piling em high huh?
