It has for a long time.. Northern and Eastern EU countries have been threatened by Russia forever. I know a lot about it, because I live on the Russian border.

It's Russia, because they expand over other's borders. Like in Georgia and Ukraine.

They don't do that to NATO countries. I live on the Russian border. Remember they also occupy 20% of Georgia (not NATO).

What? All European/Western countries build together. In my North European country, there are US air bases (with American rule of Law) and material for ever since 1945. We want them here. And our guys train in the US. Many of my Scandinavian friends work for American companies. EU/US is like one country all together.

@fromika As far as I understand, that's basically where all our air force trains (Arizona). There is an ever rotation of personnel back and forth. But all the different regiments and their different training is difficult to understand. Our northern camps were already built down, but now they grow with rotation of NATO troops, after Russia started threatening us in summer. They go to all places. British also rotate in Norway regularly. Even though we have a small airforce, they are more and more active due to Russian military activity (has been for 40 years). It's a shame, because we had a lot of "friendship programs" going on with Russian communities across the border, for normal people. And tourism. But after Putin went crazy around 2012, everything is changed. I think 2020 was some record year for Russian practicing attacks on our country over international water, like China does to Taiwan now.

@fromika But we want them to stay! Our elected politicians invited them. And I go to Britain all the time, and used to live there for a while. US is a bit far away. (remember that within Europe we have equal rights and it doesn't matter what country you are in. And mostly it is like that with USA too).

@fromika The west is probably quite different to what you think. I have American colleagues, friends.. we don't care about each other's nationality.

@fromika The way I see it, if Russia wasn't run by people like Putin and his gang, everything would be better for everybody. Russia has resources, but the people don't get to enjoy it. Lots of poverty in Russia. So we get Russian refugees who want to work here instead.

@fromika I agree that the US has a lot of blood on their hands. But half of Europe was under Russian occupation from 1945-1991, and through history Russia caused their neighbours a lot of pain. Life in west Europe was great, life in the east was crap. We simply want Russia to stay within their own borders. If they get themselves a good president, people could all be rich because of their natural resources. Remember also that Russia started to cut the gas supply to Europe in 2021, long before the war in February 2022.
