It's so true in Germany in my experience. As an immigrant here, you'll realize that you are always "behind the scene", "doing laborous work", "without much recognition". In competition for promotion, your german counterpart just makes a little extra effort in work, and they can make it; but for you, you have to go extra-miles constantly around the year, in order to barely get recognized and hopefully, the promotion. That's the reality.

@boofuu3145 No. We (immigrants) stay and "improve" the environment. For example, there is an implicit agreement between us that whenever we see an immigrant being considered in senior/leadership position, we all vote for him (give positive feedback, etc.). So that such prospective leaders will protect our interests in the future. 🤗
