3:48 I don't think Jutland can really be called a decisive battle, though. It was pretty much as indecisive as it gets. Both fleets were intact afterward, and both could and did put forth arguments that they'd "won". A decisive battle is more than just a large battle. When a decisive battle happens, there shouldn't be any doubt afterward who won. After Jutland, the Grand Fleet retained control of the seas, but with the High Seas Fleet still intact that control was tenuous. It remained possible that the Germans might take that control away from them in a future battle. Whereas had Jutland been decisive, one side or the other would've been in no shape whatsoever to contest control of the North Sea for years to come.
