Couldn't you largely get around the firing arc limitations of an all-forward layout by using Mogami-style layout with the B turret non-superfiring but able to fire over the A turret when elevated for longer range? As seen on the F2 and F3 battlecruiser designs. Also, an Alsace with three quad turrets forward would've been absolutely hilarious.
