  1. Lee was awarded the Navy Cross for his actions at Guadalcanal. He would've been far more deserving of the Medal of Honor than Scott and especially the blunderer Callaghan.

  3. At the range of engagement for this battle, I doubt Fuso or Nagato would've fared much better than Kirishima did. Even Yamato would've been in bad shape if she took 20 16-inch AP Mark 8 shell hits in short order. Battleships are built to withstand gunfire from other battleships. They are not built to withstand gunfire from other battleships at a range inside of 8km.

  4.  @Edax_Royeaux  Hood was classified as a battlecruiser because at the time she was built, the Royal Navy considered any capital ship that could exceed 25 knots to be a battlecruiser. And she was still a battlecruiser during WW2 when that convention was no longer operative (hence the KGVs being designated as battleships), because she'd always been a battlecruiser and there was no reason to change her designation.
